You guys...!!! You see that darling little flowered pillow on my $20 yard sale chair..? you won't believe how I made it... Kate @salvagedior came up with this Genius idea.. to use place mats to make pillows... I've had these place mats for years..And I never use them, but so pretty, I held onto them. I'm so glad I did.. last night I made 3 of these flowered ones and 2 striped one...Now I'm on the hunt for beautiful place mats, I see many many pillows in my future... Thank you Kate!!! Sharing my kitchen hutch for #mythriftedthursday, this hutch was in my mother in laws mudroom for years needing some paint and love, I always had my eye on it. And when we moved into our home, she asked me if I wanted it, I said Umm!! Yes, please!! so I painted it white added some new knobs and it was the perfect fit in my kitchen. I just love it!! Playing along with this weeks #beautifulfurnitureshowcase hosted by the lovely #designdivas when I was a little girl my mom bought me a vanity, yes it was metal and gold with a glass top, I would get ready at it everyday. Soon as I grew, it was just wobbly and I would tighten the screws to keep it together as long as I could! After I moved out at 19 yrs old, I'm not sure exactly what happen to my little vanity, probably was to old to keep anymore. But as an adult and having my own home, I was always searching for one. One day on a trip to my favorite store with my husband, I came across a special and most perfect little vanity the price was a steal and I just had to have it. While thinking about how I was going to get it home. Then finally deciding I'll figure it out later. I went up to the clerk in the store and said I would like to purchase this vanity. Then she says I'm sorry a women just called on the phone and just bought it. Then she went over to it and stuck a Sold sticker on it. My heart was broken. I couldn't stop thinking about the vanity, I was even considering calling the women that bought it to make an offer. Its all I thought about for days, Still thinking it belonged to me!! A few days later after work, I go up to my bedroom and guess what was there The Vanity!!! I burst into tears!! And said I new it was mine!!!. My Husband was the one who bought it, talked with the women without me knowing while I was thinking of how I was going to get it home. Figured out how to get it home with help from his uncle and set it up in our room. He gave to it me for our first anniversary which was only a few days away. I was so happy and couldn't believe my husband surprised me like that!! It was the best. Now I get ready at it everyday just like when I was a girl. And one day I will pass it on to my daughter. ( who already loves it.) The little makeup mirror and brush set were my grandmothers which makes it that much more special to sit at!!



I got tagged earlier by the lovely and sweet M @newpairofwings for #widn if you haven't checked her out please do!! ♥♥ When I was tagged I was reading my daughter a story and putting her to bed. after that I check my others girls ( the chicks) they learned to go to bed by themselves now, (one proud momma ) Locked the coop up and they are tucked in for the night. Right now, I'm chatting with my son before he goes to bed about his 8th grade dance he does not want to attend!! Ugh teenagers!! just telling him about my 8th grade dance!! he's off to bed, then I will make my nightly call to my mom. After that I want to get my second workout in for the day. If you didn't know I'm a night owl!! Lol!! Then finish picking up the house and maybe watch a show. oh boy!! If you read all that Congrats!!!
